There is always a bird. Out there. Waiting. Patiently. For you.
Sicilian twilight
At the moment the Corona virus is sweeping through our countries, and I´m spending some time at home with my archives.
This picture was captured last year, in the beautiful town of Marsala, situated on the West Coast of Sicily. As we went for a walk the dusk settled over the sea, creating this scenery. It speaks for itself, don´t you think?
Coffee, my dear?
Rodelokka, is one of the old working class districts of Oslo. As the city developed through the seventies much upgrading took place, but you will nevertheless still find grade listed wooden houses, and some occasional brick counterparts, squeezed in between the city´s ever so bustling architecture. And it was right here, just as I was walking through the vicinity a few weeks ago, I suddenly encountered this couple, having a sit down in front of their house.
The last days the temperature´s improved considerably, and the winter has subsequently faded away, so they are most certainly gone, now. A bit sad, as they were really a pair of cuties, but on the other hand, I can´t really say I miss the cold.
But living in Norway they´re bound to be back ever so soon. Just let us have at least some summer in the meantime.
Dining out
Do you often dine out? I love it. Of course, this can’t happen too often, I haven’t got that kind of money. But reassuringly, my city has abundant options in both the high and low end of the price scale.
Strolling the streets a Thursday evening, I spotted these young ladies having a quiet dinner at the top floor of a fast food restaurant, unaware of people pouring in and out beneath them. I’ll rather stick to the quiet option myself, I think. Don’t you agree?
The girl in the ring
Even though I suffer from lack of inspiration these days, I haven´t completely given up on taking my camera out for a walk. So a couple of nights ago I went downtown, just to be nourishing on the month of May, and with a newly emptied card tightly fitted in the memory slot.
Spring is slowly drifting into the early stages of summer here in Oslo. The tourists starts showing up, in groups as well by themselves. In front of the opera house, itself showing up as an interesting piece of architecture, I came across a group of young ladies occupied by photographing themselves carefully framed in this rather ordinary specimen of concrete.
So as the tourists where busy capturing themselves, I went on to capture the tourists.
